Iranian riot police kick and beat a man in Fatemi square next to the Interior Ministry, as supporters of reformist candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi started to gather on the streets protesting the results of the Iranian presidential election in Tehran, Iran, Saturday, June 13, 2009. The election itself was mostly symbolic, as the president of Iran has little power. The actual rulers of the country are the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other religious leaders who are members of the Guardian Council. When Iranians voters overwhelmingly elected a reformist president, Mohammad Khatami, in 1997 and 2001, the Guardian Council vetoed all of his reforms.(AP Photo/Ben Curtis)
