Lest We Forget-Terry Lynch

Photo Gallery
Sometimes the war in Afghanistan seems abstract or faraway. Yet Americans are dying there on an almost daily basis. On June 29, 2009, Sergeant Terry J. Lynch of Shepherd, Montana, died in Wardak Province when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. He was serving with the 3rd Squadron of the 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Team. Lynch is the 642nd American to die in the Afghanistan region since October 2001.
