Clyde, a long-haired Himalayan disappeared from his home near Hobart on the island of Tasmania in 2006. Three years later a nurse in Queensland on the mainland of Australia found him wandering in a hospital more than 2,300 miles away and eventually brought him to a vet who identified him by his microchip. Clyde was flown home to his humans, Ashleigh Sullivan (left) and her mother Katrina Philips on September 16, 2009. It is not known how Clyde managed to cross the 185-mile Bass Strait that separates Tasmania from the rest of Australia. (AAP Image/Paul Carter)
