Navajo Code Talkers

Guy Clauschee and other surviving Navajo code talkers pray at the signing ceremony to launch the building of a museum to honor their special service during World War II. Because the Navajo language was complex and unwritten, more than 400 Navajo men were recruited by the U.S. Marines to transmit messages on the Pacific Front between 1942 and 1945. The Japanese were never able to break the code. (AP Photo/Donovan Quintero)
