Crude FBI Turns to Army for Help in Anti-Terrorism Training

Sunday, November 06, 2011
Having been publicly exposed for teaching that all Muslims are dangerous, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has asked for help from the U.S. Army’s premier educational source.

The Combating Terrorism Center at West Point (CTC) will soon review the FBI’s training materials, which were found to contain material portraying “mainstream” Muslims as “violent” and “radical.” The FBI has authorized a committee to review manual, presentations and videos.

The CTC is known for its rigorous academic approach to understanding terrorism and Islamic extremism—just the opposite of FBI analyst William Gawthrop, who has compared Islam to the Death Star and Mohammed to a “cult leader” whose “mindset is a source for terrorism.”

“At CTC, there’s an ethos of education,” Brian Fishman of the New America Foundation told Wired’s Danger Room. “When you have that, you inherently recognize that you need to illustrate that, for example, the practice of Islam around the world isn’t monolithic.”

The CTC has worked with the FBI before by allowing new agents to enroll in the center’s class on international terrorism. But this time the center may be called upon to revamp the bureau’s slanted curriculum on Muslims.
