“I am not a crook” I am sad to say that Mr. Obama is becoming more Presidential every day. Spending $1.94 Million dollars to not answer a $10 question sounds crooked to me. Lets face it, even if the birthers are right, I am confident my President could find someone to create a birth record that proves he is Dick Cheney’s Hawaiian brother. The State of Hawaii charges $10 to send the certified copy of your birth certificate to a court. According to the Federal Election Commission, in the first 6 months of 2009 alone, my President has paid the law firm of Perkins Cole $1.94 Million Dollars since becoming President to not give the court that certificate. The FEC posts the whole budget see for yourself. I don’t know which side is craziest, the Birthers that say he is Canadian or the Anti-Birthers that deny the obvious fact that the President is non-transparently acting like a crook. Change? In regards to newspaper announcements and websites publishing Mr. Obamas birth certificate, they still do not explain why he does not send that already published birth certificate to the court. At the request of Mr. Obama, he has not allowed anyone to receive and confirm his original records. He has allowed a controlled viewing of a document to a couple of web sites but that is not the same as furnishing a $10 copy to a court of law. In regards to the election, no matter what the results are, Mr. Obama is our President because the Electoral College already voted for him. It does not matter what the voters think, the electors of the State of California can vote for anyone they want regardless of qualifications. Even though the Constitution states the qualifications for President, they offer no method of enforcement or verification. As for impeachment proceedings, I highly doubt a Democratic majority in both houses of congress will impeach a Democratic President elected by popular vote. The riots on the streets will be unprecedented.

But, just because it's a different form, doesn't mean it's fake, States have to re-issue birth certificates all the time, and they use a modern system to do so. Did you see that part at the bottom of the Obama birth certificate that says "This copy serves as prima facie evidence of the fact of birth in any court proceeding"??? Do you have any clue what that means? That means that according to the State of Hawaii (see their seal there?) that document meets any burden of proof in any US court that Barack Obama was born according to the details in that document. A Congressman must be a citizen to run for office. That means either a birth certificate or naturalization papers. If the first commenter doesn't think Neugebauer needs to provide the birth certificate, then how about his naturalization papers showing that he immigrated from...Kenya? The other commenter is just another "birther" with his eyes closed. The "Certificate of Live Birth" is what the state of Hawaii has provided to people who request a birth certificate since around the turn of the century. The microfiched copy is the original on file. If the "Certificate of Live Birth" is good enough to get a passport it should be good enough to verify that he is a citizen.

There is no such thing as a long form birth certificate in Hawaii. Birth certificates are not issued by the Federal government so there is no standard. All states issue and authenticate their own certificates. I don't have a "long form" certificate myself. Yet I was able to obtain a passport with the "short form" certificate I posess. There are not 2 grades of birth certificates. Either its a valid certificate or it is not -and Hawaii says its valid.
