Census Questionnaires to be Recycled to Raise Money for Childcare Facilities
Saturday, October 31, 2009

Paper by the hundreds of millions of sheets will be consumed next year as part of the 2010 Census, but it will not be thrown into the garbage once the federal government is done counting everyone. Instead, the 600 million questionnaires produced by the U.S. Census Bureau will be sent to the National Processing Center in Indiana for shredding and then sold to contractors for recycling. The money raised will be allocated to help pay for federal employee wellness programs and childcare facilities operated by federal agencies throughout the country.
