Smart Toilets
Monday, May 18, 2009

For a mere $6,100 Americans can have the ultimate toilet in their bathrooms, one that can help everyone from diabetics to women trying (and not trying) to get pregnant. The Intelligence Toilet II, built in Japan, can record data that includes weight, body mass index, blood pressure and blood sugar levels, all while just sitting on the toilet.
The “smart toilet” comes with a “sample catcher” in the bowl that can collect urine samples. Its built-in technology then analyzes the specimen and sends the information wirelessly to a home computer, allowing individuals to share the data with their doctor. Glucose and hormonal levels can be checked by the Intelligence Toilet II, which also comes with bidet features like an air dryer, and a heated seat for those cold winter days.
