With his first year coming to a close, President Barack Obama finds himself with an impressive score of 75-9…when it comes to promises kept vs. promises broken. The scorecard has been compiled by PolitiFact, a project of the St. Petersburg Times that fact-checks statements by politicians and others on its Truth-O-Meter.

Obama’s 75 promises kept include creating a foreclosure prevention fund for homeowners, establishing a credit card bill of rights, sending two additional brigades to Afghanistan, granting Americans unrestricted rights to visit family and send money to Cuba, and investing in all types of alternative energy.

Among his nine broken promises are ending income tax for seniors making less than $50,000, directing the Secretary of Health and Human Services to conduct a comprehensive study of federal cancer initiatives, creating a $3,000 tax credit for companies that add jobs, toughening rules against revolving door for lobbyists and former officials, and recognizing the Armenian genocide.

PolitFact also lists 18 promises for which he settled for a compromise, 39 that are stalled, 202 that are in the works and 170 that are not yet rated.
