Giving new meaning to the phrase “streaming video,” Captive Media has produced the first “hands-free urinal videogame,” which is now being unveiled in bars and clubs in the United Kingdom. With foot-long LCD screens mounted above specially-crafted urinals, the games utilize a patented contact-less sensor unit that can track the heat and movement of a user’s urine stream. Gamers will eventually have a choice of contests to choose from, like the “On the Piste” skiing game and the “Clever Dicks” quiz.

The games have been tested for four months at the Ta Bouche bar in Cambridge, England, where the owners report that customers are pleased and beer sales are up. In addition, the men’s room is cleaner because clients are releasing their streams more carefully. And, after generations of men mocking women for going to restrooms in groups, men are now doing the same thing.

On Friday the urinals were unveiled at The Exhibit bar in London.

There is apparently nothing to support the rumor that the system will honor another motion-activated video game system by renaming it the “Wee.”
