Lacoste Asks Norwegian Police to Prevent Mass Murderer from Wearing Brand to Court

Anders Behring Breivik
Clothing brand Lacoste has one devoted customer it wished it didn’t: mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik.

The man behind the July 22 massacre in Norway that killed 77 people says his favorite line of clothing is Lacoste, which offers the ideal look for a conservative like himself, according to his manifesto.

Breivik has been photographed in a red Lacoste shirt and a black Lacoste sweater—images at which company officials cringe for fear what they will do to their brand. He is such a big fan of Lacoste that he used a Lacoste advertising campaign, “Lacoste 2083,” as inspiration for the title of his manifesto, “2083: A European Declaration of Independence.”

Lacoste has asked Norwegian police for help, hoping they will make sure Breivik is seen wearing something else in all future public appearances.
