50 Years of Keeping a Daily Diary

I would not have realized how much we unconsciously edit our memories if I did not have contemporaneous accounts of each day of my life for the last 50 years. Most of these alterations are minor and harmless. But there is one false memory that had a major effect on my life. The incident began on October 16, 1979.

Biden Gives Go-Ahead for “Friendly Dictators” to Murder Opponents

As Biden prepares to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who ordered the murder and dismemberment of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Blinken explained to Biden that other dictators have reached out to the State Department to find out if they too can be excused if they murder and dismember their opponents. “What’s good for our Arab allies should be good for our allies in other parts of the world,” Biden is alleged to have told Blinken.   read more

Gutting the EPA…All in the Family

Neil Gorsuch’s mother, Anne Gorsuch, was the head of the EPA from May 1981 until she was forced to resign in March 1983. In 1982 she was caught holding back $6 million in federal funds to clean up a toxic waste site near Los Angeles because she didn’t want to help the Senate campaign of former California Governor Jerry Brown. She was cited for contempt of Congress when she refused to turn over documents related to the case, and she was forced to resign.   read more
