Janice Munsterman was a research sociologist with the National Institute of Mental Health before beginning her career in the criminal justice system. She worked for more than a decade as a Senior Staff Associate at the National Center for State Courts, and after that served for six years as Program Manager for SJI. Then she joined the National Institute of Justice, where she was a senior social science analyst for the Office of Research and Evaluation monitoring drug court grants, until returning to SJI as Deputy Director. In 2007 she was promoted to Executive Director. She retired July 3, 2010.
