Name: Al-Hajri, Ali Bin Fahad

Ali Bin Fahad Al-Hajri has served as Qatar’s ambassador to the United States since April 7, 2008. He graduated from the University of Southern Colorado in 1983, with a BA in political science, and was appointed as third secretary at the Ministry of Foreign of the State of Qatar, Doha later that year.
 
From 1985-1993, he was a diplomat at the General Consulate of Qatar in Dubai, UAE, and from 1995-1997, he was a diplomat at Qatar Embassy in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.
 
He was a member of Qatar Permanent Delegation to the United Nations from 1997-2000, and Qatar Representative in the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the World Food Program (WFP) from 2000-2005.
 
From 2000- 2005, Al- Hajri served as ambassador to Italy in Rome. During the same period, he was also non-resident ambassador to Greece, Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, and San Marino.
 
From 2006- 2008, he was Director of European and American Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Doha.
