Name: Quander, Paul
Current Position: Previous Director
Paul Quander, who received a B.A. in political science from Virginia State University in 1975 and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law in 1980, was nominated for the 6-year position by President Bush, becoming the first Director of CSOSA on August 5, 2002. Quander began his career working for Neighborhood Legal Services, then for seven years served in a number of positions with the District of Columbia Office of the Corporation Counsel, in the Juvenile Section, the Civil Division, and the Correctional Litigation Section. From 1989 to 1994 he was the Deputy Director for the D. C. Department of Corrections, and after that he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Columbia, where, in 2000, he was appointed the U.S. Department of Justice Senior Litigation Counsel. He was serving as Chief of the Seventh District Major Crimes Homicide Section at the time he left to join CSOSA.
